While the content of the majority of our e-Resources (aka databases or academic search engines) can be found using the Library Catalog, there are still several good reasons to go directly to specific databases to do your research:
1. Some content is not covered by the Catalog (e.g. images, most newspaper articles, statistics)
2. Database interfaces enable you to construct more precise searches.
3. Many databases have additional useful features (e.g. RSS alerts for specific journals or searches)
